The Explosion of Paranormal Television

My generation used to watch a limited selection of paranormal shows such as The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and Bewitched (does this one even count?). Now it seems we have an endless array of metaphysical subjects to watch on an almost nightly basis.

Currently there's Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Destination Truth, Saving Grace, America's Psychic Challenge, Alien Abductions: True Confessions, John Edward Cross Country, A Haunting, Most Haunted, and on and on. These shows tend to be on cable channels rather than major networks who are more likely to go after the really big money rather than produce fringe, reality-exploring content.

Global Participation in Earth Hour

Major cities all around the world will participate in 'Earth Hour,' a yearly event set to take place on March 29. As many as 30 million people worldwide will participate by turning off their lights, televisions, and other non-essential electrical items for one hour to increase awareness of human-induced climate change.

Greek Archeological Find on Mount Lykaion Astonishes Experts

Archeologists working in Greece in the area once known as Arcadia recently made a startling find. On the summit of Mount Lykaion — which some believe to be the birthplace of the greek god, Zeus — ashes, bones, fragments of pottery, and other evidence of animal sacrifices were uncovered last summer.

The pottery appears to originate from pre-Zeus times, dated around 3000 B.C., approximately 900 years before today's Greek ancestors settled in the area.
