The Nature of Divine Energy: More Kundalini Q&A

As a followup to my previous post about my kundalini experiences, a reader recently asked about the nature of the divine energy that flows through a person during a kundalini rising.

It is probably best to start out by stating that kundalini is not really the energy itself but the actual event; understanding this will help one better comprehend the nature of the powerful flow that rises up the channels of the nervous system.

I would also like to preface my explanation that follows by saying these are simply my observations, perceptions, and epiphanies that arise during my personal kundalini events. Others who have been through the same experience may have a different viewpoint or definition; however, I strongly feel my understanding arises from a place of great knowing that reflects the absolute nature of our true selves.

The energy that is thrust up through the body is a forceful concentration of benevolent, intelligent, conscious life force energy. (I identify it as being like electricity — it doesn't judge, it simply seeks to flow through existing circuits and to animate or "light up" the object.) This energy also, I feel, is part of the essential makeup of our being beyond our physical state.

When the kundalini mechanism has been activated and forces divine energy up through the body, the specific bodily response is dependent upon several factors: the makeup of our whole psyche, our existing thought patterns, and current blocks we hold within our bodies.

When there is a perceived negative response (I say perceived because labeling it 'negative' or 'positive' is a judgment) via turbulent emotions or uncomfortable physical symptoms, it is indicative of a part of ourselves that is in need of healing — usually in the form of correcting erroneous beliefs or past decisions we have made — to allow energy to flow.

These blocks can be easily released using a comprehensive affirmation program that imprints new core beliefs and overwrites flawed beliefs held about the self. I have also found acupressure and other types of bodywork that work on multiple levels of our being, such as trigger point therapy, to be incredibly beneficial. But I have personally found it always comes back to imprinting new healthier beliefs in order to experience long-lasting change.

The nature of the divine energy activated by the kundalini mechanism is nonjudgmental; its pure intent is to restore balance and wholesomeness through everything in which it flows. One could use the word 'love' to define the intrinsic nature of this benevolent, intelligent, conscious force that is the life force energy which animates all things. I define 'love' as a conscious state of being (of this energy) that is nonjudgmental, compassionate, and forgiving — always.

I have deeply sensed this energy as it flows through me and around me — it is like a fluid concerted wave of tiny cells that have individuality but act as one. 'They' serve with absolute pureness of intent, joy, and devotion to flow toward restoration of harmony.

Even a person not undergoing a kundalini process can become more attuned, through meditation, to this divine energy that is subtly but continuously flowing through us, and as we do, we become more synchronized and in harmony with its qualities — nonjudgment, compassion, and forgiveness.
