Earth Hour on March 29

Major cities all around the world will participate in 'Earth Hour,' a yearly event set to take place on March 29. As many as 30 million people worldwide will participate by turning off their lights, televisions, and other non-essential electrical items for one hour to increase awareness of human-induced climate change.

Famous structures, such as San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Sydney's Opera House, Chicago's Sears Tower, and Toronto's CN Tower will also be in the dark during Earth Hour.

Cities signing on to the event include Sydney, Bangkok, Copenhagen, Ottawa, Dublin, Atlanta, San Francisco, Vancouver, Montreal, and Phoenix, as well as dozens of other locations.
